We invite you to read the article by Bartłomiej Wysocki entitled Microstructure and mechanical properties investigation of CP titanium processed by selective laser melting (SLM) published in the renowned English-language Journal of Materials Processing Technology (Volume 241, March 2017). The article presents the possibility of strengthening pure titanium (Grade 1) with oxygen in the SLM process. This article also examines mechanical properties and microstructure of printed elements both in the plane parallel to the working platform (XY) and in the element growth plane (XZ). The obtained results suggest the possibility of replacing the Ti-6Al-4V alloy in medicine with pure 3D printed titanium without significant loss of material properties.
