We would like to inform you about the publication of the scientific article entitled: “Investigation of the relationship between morphology and permeability for open-cell foams using virtual materials testing” in the Materials and Design journal. Its co-author is Bartłomiej Wysocki, president of the MaterialsCare board.
The authors of the article investigated the influence of the morphology of open foam structures on their functional properties (permeability). A virtual material testing procedure was used, followed by validation of the obtained simulation results by conducting experiments on three of the generated structures printed using Selective Laser Melting (SLM) technology.
These tests will be used by the company for the design of new generation metallic implants with a much higher similarity to bone tissue than previously used solutions.
