Personalised templates manufactured by MaterialsCare with the use of 3D printing technology are used in hospitals as medical instruments for the treatment of oncological patients in bone resection surgeries with diagnosed cancer. Preoperative templates are adjusted to the anatomical size of individual patient and are produced based on the data from computer tomography delivered by doctors. In the case of surgery of removing a jaw fragment and replacing it with fibula, MaterialsCare team design and manufacture templates for cutting the jawbone and cutting appropriate replacement fragments from fibula.

The scientific consultant in the design of personalized templates and medical instruments for doctors is Dr n. med Maciej Rysz (who works for Oncology Center – Maria Sklodowska-Curie Institute, and Timeless – Plastic Surgery).
